Welcome ....

I will try and keep upto date on all Notts County news , on and off the pitch aswell as adding pictures and videos from this season.

Hopefully this year won't be as depressing as the last - where the Magpies escaped the drop by 6 points.

Manager Charlie McParland has had to clear the deadwood (once again) and re-build a squad which should be challenging for the Playoffs.

My personal prediction is a respectable mid table finish.

Also look out for my articles in the Notts County Matchday Programme !

Notts claim their first point...

Notts 0 Darlo 0
Att: 4,352 (321 Darlo)

Well only time will tell if this proves to be a point won or lost. Notts had the chances to win the game , but ultimately they were second best against a well organised Darlington team. At least it was a clean sheet and a point.

Charlie stuck with the same team that faced Bradford last Saturday and the Magpies SHOULD have taken the lead inside 20minutes. Emile Heskey lookalike Delroy Facey used his Usain Bolt sprinting skills and went round the 'keeper but missed the open goal. This was to prove to be Notts best chance. Minutes later Darlo hit the woodwork twice - first Billy Clarke and then Jason Kennedy inches away from the finding the net. Clarke's effort was actually tipped onto the bar by Pilko , a fantastic save.

A rather dull second period was brightened by Johno's excellent leap and header from a corner which was tipped onto the bar by the Darlo keeper Brown.

The highlight of the match was on the hour. A largely quiet Myles Weston finally turned on the style by skipping past two players before turning 360 degrees on the ball and spinning past another marker. He was now clear , on the byline but you couldn't pick out three Notts attackers. It was an excellent skill , but sadly Weston is still missing the final ball.

Man of the Match - Steady Eddie or Johno.

Other points of interest:
Notts now boast a sprinkler system on the pitch !
Why wasn't Canham brought on ?! Instead Charlie opting for Spencer WD.
Also where was Jay Smith ?! He was brilliant on Tues.
Notts have been drawn against Wigan away in the Carling Cup.
And Scunthorpe Utd away in the Paint Trophy.
