Welcome ....

I will try and keep upto date on all Notts County news , on and off the pitch aswell as adding pictures and videos from this season.

Hopefully this year won't be as depressing as the last - where the Magpies escaped the drop by 6 points.

Manager Charlie McParland has had to clear the deadwood (once again) and re-build a squad which should be challenging for the Playoffs.

My personal prediction is a respectable mid table finish.

Also look out for my articles in the Notts County Matchday Programme !

Notts win for Sir Jimmy !!

Notts 2 Aldershot 1

It was an emotional day at Meadow Lane as over 6 thousand fans gave a fitting tribute to Jimmy Sirrel. A minutes applause lead by former players on the pitch was excellently observed. Both sets of fans saluting a real football character and the greatest ever manager at Notts. Songs of "Theres only one Jimmy Sirrel" and "Jimmy Sirrel's black and white army" rang round the Kop. It was now the players give what Jimmy would really have wanted - the three points.

Notts started brightly with Weston skipping past a full-back and delivering an excellent cross which Butcher headed narrowly wide. However this was one of the only bright sparks in a dull first half.

Notts did have the ball in the back of the net when Facey flicked on the ball to Forrester who lobbed the 'keeper (Stallard-esque) but was ruled out for offside.

The Shots took the lead from a corner. It was simply awful marking at the back post. Several players let the ball through and Charles was there to get a touch to it despite Hoult trying to keep it out. It looked it was going to be one of those days , but Notts replied immeditely.

Johno flicked the bal in from a free-kick to get the Kop rocking. Notts were now in the incendency. Weston proving to be the best outlet but his final ball was as cutting as previous games.

With time running out it looked like it would be the 7th draw in a row. However if you would have read my article in the Matchday Programme you would have known to stay until the final whistle.Clapham expertly crossed in for Butch to head back accross the goal and loop in somehow into the net. A 93RD MINUTE WINNER ! The Kop went mental and could finally celebate a win !

A fitting tribute to a great man. Notts are now in the top half of the table - 11th.
